Ardsley women bring home the GOLD!
The Ardsley team of Seré Politano, Megan Stopera, Amber Will, and Elizabeth Harmon recently traveled to Wausau, WI to compete in the Club National Championships. Not only will they not be coming home empty handed, they will be carrying gold medals with them! After needing to win a tie breaker to make it to the semifinals, Team Politano was an unstoppable machine, winning the finals over Team Swisshelm of the Detroit Curling Club by a final score of 8-4 in 7 ends.
After qualifying for nationals at the At-Large Playdowns in Ardsley back in February, an emotional Politano said "This has been a long time coming." It seems it was well worth the wait. Congratulations ladies. We are extremely proud of you!
Casper, Stopera both medal in National Championships
Congratulations to Team Casper (top) skipped by Ardsley member Danny Casper, and team Dropkin, known as "The Young Bucks" (bottom), which features Ardsley member Andrew Stopera skipping and throwing third. They finished with Silver and Bronze medals respectively at the 2023 Mens' National Championships held at the Denver Colisseum in February. Out of a field of the eight best mens teams in the country, only four make it to the playoffs. Both Team Casper and the Young Bucks made the playoffs with Team Casper posting the best overall record in the round robin at 6-1, which included a 10-3 victory over long time repeat champions and 2018 Olympic Gold Medalists, Team Shuster. Casper and Shuster would meet again in the chamionship game, this time with Team Shuster coming out on top. With youth on their sides, both Casper and Stopera will be a force in U.S. Curling for many years to come!

2022-2023 COVID-19 Rules
Note: Rules are subject to change based on current federal, state, and local guidelines concerning the spread of COVID-19.
- If you have COVID-19 or flu symptoms, we ask that you not curl or visit the club.
- Only fully vaccinated individuals may curl and use the club facilities. Highly recommended, but not required, is for all people entering the club to be up-to-date with recommended booster vaccinations.
- Wearing a mask is optional. Good hand hygiene is recommended (hand washing, use of hand sanitizer prior to curling).
- Members and visitors to the club must sign the COVID-19 Declaration of Compliance on the club's waiver and release form.
- If you test positive for COVID within 5 days after curling, please notify the league or event coordinator so that they can send an email notification. Notification will be sent to people who were in the building the same day as the curler who reported COVID-19 (for example, if the curler played on Saturday morning, all people who were in the club on Saturday will be notified).
- Please specify the sheet you played on.
- If you agree to be identified by name in the notification email, let the league or event coordinator know. Unless you agree to be identified by name, the email notification will include only the day/time and the sheet you played on. By agreeing to include your name, you will help other curlers and guests assess their risk of possible exposure.
- By notifying us, you can help keep our community safer, and help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Notification
When a member or guest alerts the league or event coordinator of a positive COVID test, the league or event coordinator will email all league members, visitors, and event participants who were in the building to inform them of possible exposure (this includes all people who were in the building the same day as the curler reporting COVID-19). The email will include a cc to club President (Derek Keyser) and the COVID Committee Chair (Judith Kelson).
Guidelines regarding isolation, masking and returning to the club post COVID positive
We encourage members and guests to follow CDC and New York State Department of Health guidelines regarding isolation and masking after COVID infection and/or exposure to determine when to return to curling or when visiting the club.
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/isolation.html
https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/isolation
Note that current New York state DOH guidelines advise that people who test positive for COVID-19 and who have ended isolation to continue to wear a well-fitting mask in public (and in all areas of the club, including the ice) for 5 days post-isolation.
